When we returned in-person at Rogers High School fall of 2021 we attempted to go back to our old structure. Freshman free write, sophomore autobiography, junior and senior social justice research. Our juniors started to brainstorm social justice ideas but as we began writing into social injustice prompts they demanded we go back to writing into joy, mystery, anything but sadness. They were exhausted by the doomsday stories and wanting writing as a way to escape. After a small amount of debate amongst the mentors and interns, we agreed. He is a select group of writing from the students and mentors curated by the Fearless Writers interns from fall 2022.

“What I enjoy most about writing with this (Fearless Writers) group, is their level of creativity and individualism when it comes to their writing styles. I enjoy the fact that these young people really enjoy what they are doing which is reflected in their writing skills, and heard in their voice when we’re discussing it. I look forward to working with these young people as they begin to manifest their speaking voices by further developing their writing skills.”
