The above link will play a (rough) recording of the slideshow below. With the writing shared at the Black Issues Conference on Sept 9, 2022 at Bowling Green State University. We are so grateful for the support and encouragement of the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the Black Student Union over the past several years. As a writing community we have been inspired by the keynote speakers each year. The writing in this exhibit was inspired by the keynote delivered by Bobby Seale in spring of 2020 just before COVID-19 shutdown. Mr. Seale created a curiosity about the history of Black advocacy in the Toledo area. We are sad that due to our primitive recording capabilities several of the high school student audio recordings were lost, we have rerecorded with mentor voices due to the timing of the rescheduling of the Black Issues Conference for September 9, 2022 so close to the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Conference. We hope that their words (even with different voices) still capture your imagination.
